Toyota 4Runner?

What do you residents think of a Toyota 4Runner? good car? known to cause problems? dear to keep? and any other info that is helpful.

The 4Stem is one of the better SUVs that you can buy. Its one of the few SUVs that is hard to find used. Thats because populace dont like to part with them. They get better gas mileage than most other SUVs in their class but most of all they last forever. My 1997 Toyota 4Errand-girl has over 200,000 miles on it and drives very well. I can expect this to go for at least another 100,000 miles as it shows no signs of moribund anytime soon. Im getting 20 mpg in my 4Runner, but I do mostly thoroughfare driving. Dont believe other rating of 20mpg unless they are based on the new standards. Im getting 20mpg and I go 65-80 miles per hour all the epoch, so its not because I drive super slow (And this model was only rated 19mph road). The fact that Im getting mileage thats above the EPA rating (the old EPA rating at that) with a agency that has over 200,000 miles on it is a testament to how nice this car is. Except for an accident it has never been in the against expect for basic maintenance.
I once pulled up to a guy that had the same model/feel ashamed 4Runner I had to brag that I had 200,000 miles in my 4Runner only to find out that he was rough treatment me with 250,000 miles.
If you're asking because you plan on buying one then have a mechanic sign in the car out to make sure that its in good condition and enjoy, although Id rather go with a smaller CAR with todays gas prices, unless you as a matter of fact need to drive an SUV.
Almost forgot, this is not expensive to maintain. (at least not any more costly than other SUVs) You pay extra for oil changes due to the V6 engine that uses 6quarts oil. Key maintenance, which Ive been a little slack on is prob just about middling for most cars. Its repairs that kills you. Luckily, if you take car of this car (oil change, hint plugs, filters, ect) then it will take care of you.

I have a 1995 toyota 4tendril. I blew the head gasket and for the price to replace the supreme gasket I found for a little more money I can put in a new engine. I know I'm common to need a new transmission to suit a different engine as well as a new rearend. What 3 liter engines are out there that would invent a suitable swap and give me more horse power?

I will require all of the numbers off the plate on the firewall to give you the correct advice as to how to fit the motor as the 1UZ-FE is the one to fit. Keeps it all Toyota, sounds nice, goes like you would not suppose and uses less gas that the V6
